No to Discrimination

People from different race, gender,  or sexuality are often discriminated against.  Moreover, marginalized groups suffer from discrimination on both a personal and professional level despite the global clamor for equality and inclusivity.

Racism is discrimination, pre-judgements or hostile behaviours directed at another person on the basis of their race, ethnicity or cultural background. While any form of racism is unacceptable, it often occurs in a casual environment.

Standing up to racism isn’t easy, but it’s the right thing to do. Challenging accusations, assumptions and stereotypes is a good way of letting people know it’s not okay to be racist.

Stand up for yourself. Don’t let anybody think they can treat you like that. Standing up to comments that appear to be racist can be a great way for people to learn about the negative impact they’re having.

Let them know that what they're saying or doing is not okay, and give them examples of why it's not okay. By confronting racist comments or behaviors, you stand up to that discrimination to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
